We are publishing today the transcription of a tape-recorded conversation between a close acquaintance of Gigi Boeru’s – Buturuga Margarit – and Dan Gorzo (nicknamed “the Doctor”) about a money transfer to PDSR, but also about the Sorin Ovidiu Vantu’s relationships with the underworld.

Gorzo Dan – Mr. Buturuga, could you please tell us about the episode you talked about earlier relating to the sponsorships PDSR received by occult ways, through the agency of certain underworld personalities.  
Buturuga Margarit – In 1992, as a friend of Gigi C (known as Gigi Boeru), I had to go with him from his house to a meeting place where we had to give someone money for PDSR, approximately $1 million.  We met with that person in the parking lot of a restaurant called “Pescarus” (The Seagull), where Gigi C. handed an attache’ case with the requested money. 
GD – Do you know who that person was who took the money?
BM – From what I saw and what Gigi C. told me, it’s Tudor Stanica.
GD – Who said that Tudor Stanica will give the money to PDSR?
BM – Gigi C. made clear of the relationship with Tudor Stanica and that he will give the money to PDSR.

GD – Besides this amount of money from before the elections of ’92, on what other occasions had Gigi C. handed money? 
BM – Yes, there were indeed other occasions when we went together and once gave $100,000 to Tudor Stanica, but I had no idea for what reason or deed.  Another time we met with Tudor Stanica in the parking lot of  the “Izvorul Rece” restaurant, but I don’t know the exact amount handed then, however must have been also around $100,000.
GD – Do you know what was Tudor Stanica’s occupation at the time?
BM – He was employed at a bank (Credit Bank ) and he was a Viorel Hrebenciuc’s man.
GD – You were present at the conversations between Gigi C. and Viorel Hrebenciuc, then Secretary of State, is it not true?
BM – Yes, certainly.

GD – But besides conversations with VH, didn’t Gigi C. have some with other people?
BM – I know that he was talking with Senator Paunescu quite often, with the Capital’s Chief Prosecutor, Barsu, and others.

GD – Are we to understand that Tudor Stanica was a liaison agent?
BM – Yes, of course

GD - But who spoke with Viorel Hrebenciuc ?
BM – Tudor Stanica, this I knew from Gigi C. personally, that TS was the liaison person.

BM – From conversations with Gigi C. [resulted that] money was obtained from those who recovered owed money from so-called debtors, and a very high-up person in the State and Police Department helped them in this endeavor.

GD – When Gigi C. took the security from Vantu, who signed the transaction?
BM – Not Vantu, and the understanding was between Gigi C. and General Iulian Vlad. [the chief of the Securitate under Ceausescu].
GD – General Vlad collaborates with Sorin Vantu?
BM – Otherwise such a warrantee would not have been possible, and the relationship Vantu-Vlad was real close.
